I first discovered Jack when she covered my local class, which prompted me to find her own, and I’ve never looked back.
She embodies everything I believe to be key in intrusting my body to follow an instructor’s flow. It’s a breath of fresh air to experience tuition so fluid and comprehensive. Jack doesn’t refer to notes, which inspires confidence, especially as the structure is always fresh and engaging. I feel like I get a maximum re-alignment for the whole body because she focuses on every point so thoroughly.
Group numbers are kept intimate so you feel reassured your postures are correct as Jack can monitor each person’s practice. Transition between moves is seamless as if the session is one cohesive choreographed series without jumps or breaks.
The session whizzes by which is indication that you’re so absorbed that there isn’t chance to lose focus or clock-watch. I’m gutted when it reaches time to finish but I also love Shavasana as I feel Jack has healing hands. It’s that magic energy that sets her apart and why she is the best.

If you’re in need of a kick-start to get your body moving again and relish the thought of feeling stronger, lighter and more flexible in just five days (as well as being well-slept and utterly virtuous on the diet front!) then I couldn’t recommend Jack’s yoga retreat more!

Regardless of your yoga ability, in her twice-daily yoga classes Jack was endlessly encouraging, motivating and inspiring and definitely one of the best (and loveliest!) teachers I’ve come across yet. I couldn’t believe how quickly my technique improved even within such a short space of time (and Jack has now proved that there is nobody incapable of a headstand!) The villa surroundings were just magical – morning meditation underneath a canopy of bougainvillea to the sound of nothing but garden birdsong is going to be hard to beat!

Sintra is the kind of place that really touches you...breathtaking beaches, adventurous walks and the picturesque sights of its looming palaces are all on the doorstep. There was plenty of free time to explore – I’m so glad we paid a visit to the mystical Quinta de Regaleira especially. After making such good friends with everybody, having the luxury of three delicious and healthy meals a day, and feeling so peaceful, relaxed and rejuvenated I really didn’t want to leave – I will definitely be back for my fix next year! xx

I wholeheartedly recommend private yoga classes with Jack. I hadn’t tried the Baseworks form of yoga before but am definitely a convert to Jack’s clear and engaging teaching style. One-to-one classes have helped me to focus much more deeply on my practice which has improved my technique faster and more effectively than group classes, which in turn means I now get the most out of my group practice as well: brilliant.

I have been going regularly to Yoga with Jack. Base Works, the form of Yoga taught by Jacki, is ideal for singers and people whose work is physically demanding. In the long term it helps-build core strength, which is essential for a singer, while also strengthening the rest of the body and releasing any bad tensions. This is ideal to help keep relaxed but strong while singing.

My trio, Voice, have just recorded our first album and we practiced Jacki’s yoga methods every morning before we rehearsed and recorded, this helped keep our minds focused and our bodies energised. We will definitely be taking Jacki’s practices on tour with us to USA in Autumn 2013 and only wish we were able to afford to take her in person!
